Garden statues - designs and materials

Garden statues come in all sorts of designs. Animals, birds and figures from classical mythology, literature and folk tales are very popular. The traditional lion garden statue is still one of the most popular and grand of garden animal statue designs.

Dragon garden statues and cherub angel garden statues are two of the more popular mythological garden statues. For the more formal garden roman statue designs and the garden lantern pagoda statue make attractive additions.

Religious garden statues are also easily obtainable, with The Buddha  and St. Francis being popular garden statue themes. Other interesting and perhaps more unusual designs that are available include a Winnie the Pooh garden statue, bird girl garden statue, Alice in Wonderland garden statue, and particularly in the United States, a baseball garden statue.

Garden statues come in many different types of materials including stone, cement and concrete to modern hard wearing resins as well as the traditional bronze and copper garden statues.

Stone garden statues are often intricately carved by hand and can be very expensive. But they should last many generations and could be considered family heirlooms.

Cement garden statues are made in a mold as are concrete garden statues. They are cheaper and not as long lasting as stone garden statues.

Resin statues are hard wearing, light and easy to handle and a lot cheaper. Copper garden statues are also light to handle and can be made in many interesting and unusual designs. They are perfect for the modern garden. (Garden statue read more)
